Microsoft Tablets Will Outsell Desktop PCs In 2013

While speaking at TechEd Europe in Amsterdam, Antoine Leblond, the vice-president of Microsoft said touch would become the leading interface over the coming couple of years.

He added, the tablets will outsell the desktop PCs in next year, touch is coming to PCs and which is going to moderate the way UIs are made very noticeably, just like mouse did. Before a week, Microsoft showed its own-brand Surface tablet, Leblond was of course keen to emphasise the advantages of touch screen a tablet, he said, with colleagues showing a several keyboard shortcuts to find the way the Metro Start menu. But, the demonstration wavered when Leblond’s associate tried to show touchpad gestures like double-fingered scrolling, with sample laptop frequently decline to notice gesture controls.
