The tablet war is no longer a 2-horse race between Apple and Google. Yesterday, in Los Angeles at a press event, Microsoft launched Surface, a tablet devices line running the firm’s next-generation Windows operating system. The Surface tablets serve 10.6 inch touch-screens covered in magnesium case, to which Microsoft titles “VaproMg.” The unique features of new tablet is magnetically connected 3mm-thick Touch Cover, which folds down and works as a complete touchscreen keyboard.
Another cover choice, the 5-mm thick Type Cover, has made-in track pad. The keyboards power down when they are wrapped back opposite the tablet thank to built-in accelerometer. The Surface tablet will be there in 2-distinct forms. The Windows RT form that is impressively the “light” form of Windows 8 – will release with Windows 8 in fall, and work on an ARM CPU.
