How To Root LG Optimus Me P350 (Android v2.2 Froyo)

But did you know rooting was once considered as very risky job as there was no guarantee that the process would be always successful and the phones would go waste. Lets not forget that the prices of the phones were also steep at that time. However that is not the case now and rooting is as simple and safe as installing common software on your PC.

Before you begin you will need:

  • LG Optimus Me P350
  • Android v2.2 Froyo
  • USB Debugging on
  • SD card (Has to be completely formatted)
  • File explorer app. If you don’t have, go to Marketplace and download ES File Explorer or ASTRO File Manager or any app like that.

Process of Rooting LG Optimus Me P350 with GingerBreak

  • Firstly download the GingerBreak tool v1.2. Save that APK file on your LG phone and or download directly to your phone.
  • Now open the file explorer app that you have in you phone and browse to the GingerBreak APK file and install it in the phones internal memory.
  • After installation open the GingerBreak app and on the ‘Options’ tap on ‘Root device’.
  • Now patiently wait for sometime and if the rooting is successful the phone will automatically restart. After rebooting wait for approximately 10 minutes and the phone will again reboot and this will again take more than 10 minutes, as the script of rooting takes longer to wipe the cache.
  • Now check if the app called Superuser has been installed and working. If the installation of the app is successful the phone will show this rooted message: rooted.style=”text-decoration: underline;”>

Not successful?

If this method is not successful, don’t worry there is another alternative to this. However this will need commands on the command prompt. You your are not familiar with CMD, don’t worry the steps given below are quite easy to follow.

Before you start you will need

  • LG Optimus Me P350
  • Android v2.2 Froyo
  • USB Debugging on
  • Microsoft Windows PC with Windows XP or later.
  • USB data cord for connecting the phone to PC
  • Package for rooting. To get the ZIP file click here. After downloading unzip the files on a separate folder.

The Process

  • For this process you will need the ASTRO File Manager to take all the back up of the Android phone.
  • How reset your phone. To do this go to ‘System’ then to ‘Privacy’ and tap on ‘Erase all data’. If this is not possible try the other method by turning off the devices and then turn it on and press the Home button, Power button and Volume Down button at same time.
  • After erasing the data connect the Optimus Me P350 to computer.
  • Now on the computer open the extracted files and open a folder called ADB. Open that.
  • If you are using Windows XP open the ‘cmdXP.exe’ file to open the command prompt.
  • On the command prompt, enter the commands given below one after another: Type ‘adb devices’ press enter and then type ‘adb shell’.
  • Now the symbol of the command prompt will change to # or $. Enter ‘echo 1 > /data/local/lge)adb.conf’ and press the Enter button.
  • After that restart the phone and while the rebooting process, on you PC go the folder where you extracted the rooting files and double click on ‘SuperOneClick.exe’.
  • On the menu select ‘GingerBreak’ from Exploit menu.
  • Click the Root button and wait for some sometime.
  • Now restart the phone and open the Superuser app to check whether it is working on the phone or not. If the app is working perfectly the phone will say rooted.stlye=”font-weight: bold;”>
  • Congratulations the rooting process has been successfully executed on your LG Optimus Me P350
