Google launched its Nexus 4 in the midst of a chaos of Sandy. Therefore, it can be seen that how eager it is to launch it and compete with rivals in the market.

Screen

Nexus 4: Supposedly, it is rival of iPhone 5. It offers a 4.7-inch screen with 1280×768 resolution. It is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The phone boasts a back which is covered with glass. It has the edges which are very well carved. It is 9.1 mm slim. Its weight is just 131 gram.

iPhone 5: It runs on a dual-core Cortex A6 processor with ARM A-15 chip. It is faster than its earlier versions because its latest processor. It helps to access graphics very quickly.

Battery

Nexus 4: This houses a 2100mAh battery. The gadget has a standby time up to 250 hours. It provides talk time up to 10 hours. It allows music playback for as long as 40 hours, video playback as long as 8 hours. It allows web browsing for up to 7 hours. It is also characterized by wireless charging.

iPhone 5: Apple experienced a setback due to the poor quality of battery in the past. Therefore, the hard work and rework is evident in the battery of iPhone 5. It offers 225 hours of standby time which includes 8 hours of 3G and 4G LTE browsing, 8 hours of 3G talk-time, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 10 hours of video playback and 40 hours of music play.

Operating System

 

Nexus 4: Nexus 4 is powered by Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) which is the latest among the mobile operating systems. This new operating system is characterised by PhotoSphere camera app, gesture typing enabled keyboard, multiple user support, sharing content wirelessly, Google Now, improved Google Search powered by Knowledge Graph among others.

iPhone 5: It runs on iOS 6. This operating system comes with 200 new features. It has Map app which has Apple-designed cartography, turn-by-turn navigation and Flyover view. Photos can be shared by using iCloud’s Shared Photo Streams. It also integrates Facebook in contacts and calendar apps. This allows user to post from Notification Center. IOS 6 also regulates calls, messages and Passbook new Siri features, and Facebook and Siri-enabled apps like Photos, Safari and Maps.

Connectivity


Nexus 4: Nexus offers great connectivity with Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, microUSB, microHDMI, dual-side NFC (Android Beam) and GPS with Glonass. It does not allow the use of microSD card and LTE.

iPhone 5: It does not have NFC but it supports 4G LTE networks. It enables the device to transfer the data at unimagined speed. It is characterised by a dock connector with 9 pins as against 30 pins in the earlier versions.

Pricing

Nexus 4: It is available in 8 GB and 16 GB versions. The release will take place on November 13 in US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. Its pricing is as much as $299 for 8GB and $349 for 16GB.
iPhone 5: It costs equal to its earlier versions. The price quoted is $199, $299 and $399 for 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB locked versions, respectively.
