Apple Wants Its Device Know You Better, Applies For Face Recognition Patent
News — By Naveen Vaidhya on December 31, 2011 at 4:17 amApple Inc. has applied face recognition patent, they what their iDevices to know you way personally than before.
Our beautiful faces are at going to be of some use at last. Like it might give us access to our iPad, iPhone and iPad! Today an Apple application patent has been out that says it will have system that recognizes faces and requires minimum power for that plus it will work no matter where you are – outdoors or indoors as we won’t use phones or tablets in a phone booth for calling.

This technology compares your live image to the image it will use for referencing, this makes the original users face easily recognizable as it even uses aspects of human faces features like mouths and eyes. In simpler words this technology takes a picture and then compare it with the list of images involved with the users account on the iDevice and compare whether the two face match or not and if the faces match to the images, you will be given the access to your phone.
As this is going to be just an app, it sure that we not be seeing this face recognition technology in the iOS so soon anyways let presume that this will be far more better face recognition technology than Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich has.
Did you know?
Apple had applied the patent for face recognition long before the Google’s Android had announced its Face Unlock months ago. The paper work for the same was originally submitted a year back on 29th June 2010. It is just that now its being publicized and we don’t know why.
